What to see at Social Media Week 2022

Oh, it’s only the best week of the year: Social Media Week! You’re registered and you’re ready for 3 action-packed days of social media takeaways. 

But which sessions are not to be missed? Don’t worry, we’ve got them all right here for you– and we’ll see you there! 


We’re only slightly biased, but Monday’s Workshop: Beyond Influencers, Prioritizing UGC in Social Media Strategy with our very own Justin Papermaster is a can’t miss session. Learn how you can leverage UGC to get your customers encouraging their networks to check you out– because people listen to their friends more than they listen to influencers. 

We also can’t wait for the session Unleashing Fandom: Why Community Matters to get some key insights on fostering deeper connections with brand “fans” through the magic of community (important and applicable concepts even if you don’t have a dedicated community team!) from Erin Wayne at Riot Games. 

And we don’t want to miss Data Powered Marketing – A Framework for Engagement from Beverly Jackson, VP of Global Brand and Consumer Marketing at Twitter. On Day 2 we’re excited for Finding Actionable Insights: What Consumer Conversations Really Tell Us with experts from Chemistry, MMGY, and NetBase Quid– as you might expect, we’re interested in anything breaking down customer insights and what they can do for brands! 

The afternoon Workshop: Two Truths & A Lie: Debunking & Then Redefining Social Media Conventions sounds like the perfect way to shake-up any stale social strategy your brand might be wanting to breathe new life into. 

And the afternoon’s Individual Experience, Collective Content Creation from Join TINT’s S. David Ramirez and Ivonne Aldaz, Lead Researcher and Content Creator at Future of Marketing on the collective storytelling process is exactly the type of content we like to see. 


Day 3! Time to grab a coffee and try to understand The Power of Web3: Evolving Relationships Between Brands and Creators – good thing we have Adweek and Falon Fatemi, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of interactive entertainment platform Fireside, to break it all down for us. 

The Wednesday workshop we’re looking forward to is Workshop: Beats, Bytes, and Brands Presents: A Masterclass in Music and Live Streaming to really fine-tune our TikTok skills. 

Finally, everyone should be able to get some good takeaways from The Rise of the Social Entertainment Era: How to Remain Agile and Drive Results.
